L-adrenaline, also known as L-Epinephrine, is extracted from the adrenal medulla of domestic animals (cattle and sheep) or synthesized by artificial methods, and has agonistic effects on both α and β receptors. Adrenaline is a hormone secreted by chromophores in the adrenal medulla. It is mainly involved in the regulation of sympathetic nervous system.

L-Epinephrine is white or off-white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter in taste. L-adrenaline is applied in combination with local anesthetics: 0.5~1ml of 0.1% adrenaline solution is added to every 100ml of local anesthetics to constrict local blood vessels and delay the absorption of local anesthetics, which can prolong the anesthesia time and reduce the toxic reaction of anesthetics. 4.
