Tianeptine Sulfate, also called tianeptine hemisulfate monohydrate, is an improved version of the tianeptine sodium salt form. It is non-hygroscopic, easier to handle, goes down easier, and lasts twice as long. It has all of the same benefits as Tianeptine Sodium, only the sulfate form has a half-life of 5-6 Std., so it lasts twice as long as tianeptine sodium. Because of this, researchers will need 2-3 times the amount of sulfate to achieve the desired results that they have come to love from sodium. Sulfate is also less volatile in both taste and viscosity. Tianeptine Sulfate is available in 5, 10, und 20 gram glass vials.
Duration of Action:
When compared to Tianeptine Sodium, the Sulfate form is expected to last up to three times longer .
Tianeptine Sulfate is absorbed by the body at a slower rate, meaning it takes longer to reach peak effect - extending it's duration of action.
Tianeptine Sulfate is excreted much more slowly than Tianeptine Sodium, meaning it remains active within the body for a longer duration.

Hygroscopicity:
One of the main downsides to Tianepine Sodium is its ability to clump after exposure to normal conditions.
Tianeptine Sulfate does not absorb moisture from the air, and remains as a powder - making it much easier to work with.
Stability:
Tianeptine Sodium is not stable in atmospheric moisture, and is very light sensitive, degrading quickly when exposed.
Tianeptine Sulfate is much more stable, with much less light degradation .
Taste:
The taste of Tianeptine Sodium has been described as "bitter" and reportedly "tastes like death".
Tianeptins Sulfate, on the other hand, has very little taste at all.
