GHRP-2 (also known as KP 102 or Pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide (GHRP), which acts on the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland to release growth hormone with a slight stimulator effect on Prolactin, ACTH and Cortisol levels.
GHRP-2 is considered to be a true hGH secretagogue, meaning that it stimulates the body’s own secretion of hGH. Human Growth hormone has been shown in studies to promote lean body mass and reduce adiposity (fat). GHRP2 has demonstrated that it is very effective at stimulating GH production in research test subjects. It has a short half life with peak concentrations occurring around 15 minutes and not longer than 60 minutes after administration.
The effects of GHRP-2 can be beneficial to the off-season athlete as it will help with growth. Jedoch, when used alone it is going to be a week choice. Off-season athletes will find growth enhanced when used with other performance-based items, and they will find such items are more effective with the presence of elevated levels of GH in the body. Equally important, the individual should be able to maintain a lower level of body fat that often increases during off-season periods of growth due to the necessary caloric surplus needed for muscular growth.
During a cutting phase is when the effects of GHRP-2 may be most beneficial due to increased levels of GH aiding tremendously with fat loss. Individuals with elevated levels of GH in the body provided naturally or otherwise will experience greater levels of fat loss. Due to the increased levels of hunger associated with use, although less than with GHRP-6, some users may find this bothersome. Jedoch, hunger is always part of dieting regardless of compounds used.
GHRP-2 vs GHRP-6 vs Ipamorelin
The major differences between the 3 GHRP peptides lays in their side effects.
1. GHRP-6 causes a significant increase in hunger for many, therefore making it good for people looking to "bulk" but no so good for those trying to lose fat.
2. GHRP-2 is often preferred for people dieting as it does not stimulate hunger, however it does raise cortisol (a stress hormone), prolactin (a hormone which can diminish sex drive) and aldosterone (a hormone which promotes water retention) more than GHRP-6 and Ipamorelin.
3. Ipamorelin is similar to GHRP-6 in that it causes an increase in hunger (but it's not as dramatic as GHRP-6). Jedoch, since it does not raise cortisol, prolactin or aldosterone at recommended dosages it is a preferred choice for those who are sensitive to these hormones.
